John Noble to head up our new production division, "One at Optimus"
Press Release , 7/14/2008

Optimus, a Chicago and Santa Monica based creative editorial and post production house, has hired John Noble, one of the ad industry’s most respected production leaders, to head up their new production arm, “One at Optimus.”   John will officially start September 1, 2008.

“We get more and more requests from our clients for creative assignments from shoot through finish.  This is why we built our production studio back in March.   We knew we needed a strong, creative, and experienced presence to lead us.  We feel privileged to have as respected a talent as John to more than fill that role.  He has tremendous creative vision, an incredible reputation, really just a class act.  And to put it in my kind of words, he’s one hell of a great guy,” said Tom Duff, Optimus President.

For the last five years, John was SVP, Director of Production/Digital at Element79 Partners in Chicago, leading a department responsible for clients such as Gatorade, Propel, Celebrity Cruises, Supercuts, and Quaker.   Previously, he spent eight years as the Director of Production at The Martin Agency.  He actually started his career back in NYC in the Production world back in the mid 1980’s, but soon jumped to the agency side, with stints at McCann Erickson & DDB in New York, and GKV Advertising in Baltimore.

Quoting John, "I am a student of the industry. In my twenty years as a producer I have closely studied the ebb and flow of trends in the commercial production world.  Right now, we are in the beginning of a huge, nearly cosmic shift in the way traditional production is produced. As media continues to splinter into smaller and smaller segments, the creative executions will inevitably need to downsize as well. Thus the need for a simpler production process - one that is quick, seamless, and experienced, yet still very creative – will be huge.”

Noble was drawn to Optimus for its culture.  “Tom Duff and I have known each other for years.  I have admired the way he and his partners have built a creative culture based on hard work and it’s a lot of fun.  It’s always been a place I wanted to work.”
